My wife and I have been blessed with three wonderful children. We share the duties of parenting and have been fortunate enough to keep our children home with one of us to date. They are the primary reason that I am so passionate about the future of our great district, state, and country.
I originally intended to use goats to control the understory of our pine plantation. Then, I discovered the heritage breed of Pineywoods cattle. Just two years ago they were endangered. They even eat kudzu and sometimes sweetgum sapplings. This increases growth rates in the pine forest and provides organically raised beef. We had our first calves this year.
I am familiar with the language and accounting tricks of the bureaucracy. I was on the Chief of Naval Operations staff for two budget cycles. My wife and I had the honor of visiting the White House while I was working at the Pentagon. We were expecting our first child, and our standard workday started at 4am and usually ended about 9pm.
